• If the weather is less great :)  A very good alternative to call the booking number for Hurtigruten ( on the bottom of the page attached Port to Port  | Hurtigruten ), and book a round trip from Ålesund to Geiranger and back to Ålesund. The Hurtigruten travels the whole lenght of the coast, but it is possible to do a roundtrip into Geiranger, and see the fjord from a small cruiceship, while sitting indoor, and perhaps having a nice dinner or lunch. It goes daily from Ålesund and is not very expensive for this short daytrip.
